I've seen this described as Hollywood Regency style. Not sure exactly what that means, but it totally rocks. Of course the source of this beauty is Beauvais Carpets, which is only available to design professionals, which equals big $$$. So, I started looking for something similar.
I found this stunner on eBay.
Apparently, it's an "HRT" (Hard to Find) Pottery Barn rug (called "chain link"). The price was fantastic, but I didn't get it right away. And then, the listing ended. Noooo! So, I kept searching and searching. Even had Jack searching. We found some nice examples, but nothing like the original. For what we wanted to pay, the best rug designs were flatweave rugs, which I'm not so excited about because I worry it won't lay flat on our carpet (ironically).
Finally, I Googled "Pottery Barn Chain Link Rug" and found that it was relisted on eBay. Of course if I had just checked my never-checked-old-hotmail account, I would have known this because that's where all my spam eBay messages are sent. Anyway, I pulled the trigger! It should be here in about a week. I hope it will add a bit of sophistication to the living room and some nice contrast with the orange.
Until then, here's what it looks like in Emily A. Clark's living room. Love it!

Hi, it looks wonderful.
ReplyDeleteI was actually about to get this rug too!
I had a huge problem with the rug that I just got rid of.
It shed and shed and shed.. How is this rug??
Does it shed a lot??
Any comment will help.

Hi Nanae,
ReplyDeleteThanks for your comment. Yes, as to be expected the rug is shedding. To be fair, we *just* got the rug this week and our 7-month-old yellow lab also sheds (a lot!), which compounds the issue. I understand that any new rug will shed for a little while. I'll keep you posted on exactly how long that is! In the meantime, I love, love, love this rug!
